upgradations of one’s skills improve the overall level of the student’s
selection chances at any examination.
MBA Entrance Examinations are based on two phases -
Phase 1 : Written Test
Phase 2 : Group Discussion Interview.
The written Test:
The written test for management Entrance Examinations consists of the
following sections-

& logical, Mathematical Reasoning.
At AMS we have a three phased written preparation strategy:
Phase I: Basic Preparatory phase. In this phase of the preparation process,
the student is put through the paces through the basic groundwork in all the above mentioned areas. Teaching is at most basic level with emphasis on grasping the basic concepts in each of these areas. Besides, in all sectional areas short cuts, based on conceptual understanding of the matter, are taught to the students.
Quantitative Aptitude: Topic by Topic discussion with adequate emphasis on concepts understanding and practice. Exposure to various shortcuts for problems without using options is given to all students. Sharpening of the mind of the students by increasing their orientation with numbers is a major focus at this stage.
Data interpretation: Along with various calculation techniques for maximum effect, exposure to different types of graphs and charts for improvement in interpretation is in emphasis at this stage
Logical reasoning: Development of a reasoning mindset through exposure to various reasoning problems so that the student incorporates the latest trends in reasoning and develops effective strategies for tacking those.
Verbal Ability: Exposure to all types of patterns with the test talking strategies. Supplemented by work an the basic English improvement of the student. The focus at this stage is to increase the level of English of all the students from their existing level. Vocabulary and improvement, sentence construction & paragraph conceptualisation and understanding. Verbal reasoning is also dealt with under this area with focus on topics like- Upstream downstream arguments, Assumption, inferences, True/probably true/false/probably false, Conclusion, Syllogisms, Critical reasoning are some of the areas dealt with in detail.
Reading Comprehension: At AMS we have developed a unique strategy for reading comprehension where we evaluate and improve reading comprehension of the students areas wise. Some areas covered under reading comprehension are Economic, Finance Business, Management, Philosophy, Sociology, Politics, life histories etc.
At this stage the focus is an building the basic groundwork of the student and on increasing the capacity of the student in terms of comprehension of reading materials. Besides, techniques to improve the reading speed without a drop in comprehension are taught to the students.
Phase II: TEST TAKING:
(A) A series of section Test and Speed tests in all sections of the
examination: 12 section tests on all areas.
These tests area supplemented with special TEST SMART techniques-
Essentially a carrying on the techniques learnt
(B) Full Length Test Series consisting of 30 tests. Individual counselling
provided to all the students.
Phase III: Crash Courses: These are held prior to the examinations and the entire portions are repeated with the emphasis being on fine tuning test taking strategy, Discussion of expected trends, last minute revisions and unique question types for the exam in question.
Crash Courses are held for-
CAT (October- November), XLRI ( December), CET (April- May)
Besides, special classes and materials for individual exams like IIFT, IRMA,
BIM, Symbiosis, NMIMS etc. are held before each of those exams.
GROUP DISCUSSION- INTERVIEW STAGE:
Here again, we follow a two phase fool proof strategy for improvement of the student’s performance in the GD-Interviews.

The logic for long term interview preparation is that in the long term a student can improve his bio data and through that can improve the perception of the interviewer and hence his expectations. In order to strengthen the bio data of students individuals guidance & counselling on biodata perpetration and improvement is made.
Phase II: This is the phase of formal preparation for the Group Discussion-interview and is held throughout the year. During this phase the gains made in knowledge throughout the year are consolidated and systemized for presentation at the GD Interview.
